The Bully Crowd, Part 2

Dear Shontel.....

No, I haven't forgotten about you.

I only have 2 friends that live in the land of "What if...", Lizzy Lynn and sweet Shontel.

Shontel and I would laugh at just about everything, but mainly our "What ifs?"

It would start with a normal scenario and then we would say "What if all a'sudden...."

And then we would laugh.

Because we were really good at turning situations into comedy sitcom scenes by imagining would could possibly happen "all a'sudden" to create a really, REALLY funny scenario.

Shontel was also wonderful because, like me, she would speak her thoughts out loud.

One of my favorite moments was when we had a lengthy conversation about how uncomfortable we felt when walking through the restaurant and somehow finding ourselves stepping to the rhythm of the music from the water show.

We always tried to step out of tune with the music that boomed across the restaurant, for fear that a customer would see us, notice our stride, and start thinking that we thought we were in a music video.

I know...

You're having a hard time understanding what the Hell I'm talking about.

Try living in my head for a day-

It's exhausting.

And then there was the smart ass Alex.  And of course, Alex, I mean that with the utmost respect and admiration.

You knew a little bit about everything and it was usually pointless thoughts and information (no, really, I dig that) and you always knew what was up in the music scene.

And of course there are countless others that I am failing to mention unintentionally.

I won't delve into the Fun Center people, but for those that didn't work at Bullwinkle's with us, one thing you should know is that those of us who worked in the restaurant were arch-rivals with the Fun Center group.

We thought they were so lame.

"They" would sometimes come in on their lunch break and we would do everything we could to give them less than spectacular service. That's what they get for making it difficult to get a wristband for the rides.

Tryn' ac' like they own the place...

And when one of our own broke the pact and dated someone from the Fun Center we seriously considered dis-owning him.

But we didn't....

And I guess anyway we all dabbled with the fruits of the Fun Center doofs.

For had we not had such close geographical proximity to the golf course I wouldn't have met and briefly dated Mike.

Mike and I made out....

a lot.

And then one day he said:

"I'm Mormon"

And I didn't quite know what it meant or why it mattered but apparently it meant we weren't gonna' make out anymore.

To this day I'm not quite sure if we stopped hanging out because of his devotion to his religion, or his devotion to the Fun Center freaks.

... C'est la vie.

It was at Bullwinkle's that I met Nick, who I dated for a while before he realized I wasn't a whore and decided he wanted to date a whore.

... C'est la vie.

And of course prior to these flings I had been seriously involved with someone and it was amongst my Bullwinkle's colleagues that I cried my eyes out and went through my first meaningful break-up.

They would cheer me on as I started dating new people...

Or they would warn me when I would tell them about this guy I was dating who sounded remarkably similar to someone their friend was dating...

(Thanks, Denisse).

... C'est la vie.

It was with my Bullwinkle buddies that I got fat and then got skinny. ( I swear I was a size 4 for a DAY during my tenure at Bully's...)

It was with these same fine folk that I went to Medieval Times, the Queen Mary, and shows...

It was this group that I hit up some of my first 18 and over clubs....

These were the people who didn't scorn me when I started dating Carl- (But the minute we stopped hanging out they gave full disclosure about how they really felt about him...)

It was this group that talked to me about my college plans... (and helped me get through that DREADFUL computer class- thanks, Alvin...)

And saw me off when I went to study in Spain...

And welcomed me back when I returned...

And saw me off when I moved to San Diego to finish my Bachelor's degree...

And kept in touch with me over the years...

(The Bully Crowd part 3 coming.... hold on, Rosie....) ;)
