Thank you: to all of you who treat me with such love and kindness and read my mundane blog and shared in the celebration of my life.

I woke up in a great mood.   It must have been the great run I had last night, or the surprise flowers my husband brought home which shocked me so much I had to ask "are these my first ever surprise flowers?" to which he proudly replied "yea!".   And I honestly can't tell you why out of all the current songs I could wake up thinking about I started hearing this song in my head  upon waking at 5 a.m.   My mind thinks it's Friday.  I don't have the heart to tell it the truth... that it is only 6 a.m. Thursday... that we have to get off this couch and get ready for work soon.    My mind isn't quite ready for the shock of the emails that are waiting for us.   But tomorrow... sometime after the work bell tolls (you know... I mean, the pretend one in my head...), I will get a chance to visit with girlfriends for dinner and cocktails.  But before then let's recap some of the week's highlights, shall we?   With...

I like it sweet and thoughtful, I like it, I like it... And maybe every week, I could like it and not be too greedy to like it every day, I think you'd like it better that way... anyway... But I tend to be kind of selfish, and want to hold on too long, I tend to be a bit irrational, and justify what is wrong. I'd like to listen to the sound of the rain, and not focus on any other thing, I'd like that... I'd like that... But then you wouldn't have any way of knowing that what I'm focusing on is you, and I can't have that... I can't have that.... It's Saturday and it's raining. It's put a quiet in my heart that I welcome and I can write a few words and listen to a few songs and I can forget all of the things that I should be doing... At least for a small window of time. I took a look at my blog list today... the sheer number startles me, and perhaps that there are 91 posts I have yet to finish... or ha...

Yesterday I struggled to feel: Motivated Interested Inspired Content Kind Yesterday I struggled to stop checking my phone for someone else to make my day Because I struggled to make my own day Yesterday I struggled with willpower. I should have known it would be an off day when I got one of those delectable snowman cookies with my Starbucks coffee Oh, how you thwart me, snowman! Yesterday I struggled with patience as my perfectly beautiful daughter tested me by asking me for toast, after she asked me for cereal, after she asked me for a breakfast bar... All of which went uneaten... I got to start my weekend with conversations that made my heart joyful.  ` I've got big plans, man. Going to see my nieces play it up Mia Hamm style, going to spend oodles of time with this sweet girl: I'll let loose just a little... And I'll hang out with my girlfriends to unveil the sealed envelope that reveals whether KB will grace us with a baby boy or girl this spring. That's the weekend ahead.
