In Transylvania

We arrived into Prague today and we're looking forward to the city tours we have planned for tomorrow.  I will admit, however, that when we pulled in, it looked like we had arrived into Transylvania.  Eastern Europe is definitely a world away from our (usually) sunny and bright home in California!  Snow surrounds us on all sides and it is beautiful, the buildings are of a Gothic architecture which encapsulate the small roadways that we rode in on.

The food is.... strange... and of course when it is all written in Czech it is hard to discern what is, and what is not, wrapped in some type of sausage.  And is that sausage cooked?  We have no idea.  Lloyd's eyes brightened when he saw a McDonald's, but so far we haven't had to make an emergency stop to any 'American' places.

We are having a funny experience communicating with the locals, most of whom don't seem to know any English.  As we kindly say "Thank You" to those that serve us, their response is always "Please". 

Odd.

We look forward to sharing some of our favorite photos that we have taken (so far) in Munich and Nuremburg, Germany, and the many we will take on our visits through Prague, Vienna, Salzburg and Budapest in the coming week.

The Good Dancer: A Dating Story

I once dated a really good dancer. That wasn't his only strength. In truth, he was one of thee absolute best dudes I ever made out with.  He was super funny, smart and we clicked right away. But what struck me as odd was that, for the first time before and since, his good dancing skills didn't turn me off.  (For some reason, a man with too much swagger on the floor has always confused and frightened me a little.)  Oh, and I also don't like when they are so involved in their dancing that they forget you are on the floor with them.  Oh, and when they A. crowd you or B. use you as a prop.  Oh, and when they sing along to songs by female artists.  If you know all the lyrics to "I'm a Slave for You", that's both impressive and embarrassing. (I really did have strange deal-breakers with men...) The Bully Crowd

7-3 again. No, I lie. It was more like 9-3. Bullwinkle's was my second job and will always remain my most favorite... I crept in at 9 or 10 every morning.   They weren't open at 7 a.m. which delighted me so. I made the bestest friends there.  To this day we remain lifelong, wonderful soul-mates. I even broke down the chola and made her learn to love me. Yes.  Rosie, I speak of you, girl. Rosie was the token chola at Bullwinkle's and she would wear baggy chola t-shirts and one of them had a HUGE Tickle-Me-Elmo plastered on the front of it. And there I waltzed in and up to her register and was likely doing cheer routines on my way in... "HI!!! MY NAME IS CAMBRIA!! C-C-C-C-A-AA-M-MM-B-B-B-R-R-R-I-I-I-I-a' A-A-A-A!!!  WHAT'S THAT SPELLLLLLLLL????" How annoying.
