As of our 6 month appointment, Monday, November 28th, Miss Sayler weighs 15 pounds, 7 ounces, 25.5 inches. She is into EVERYTHING and walks sideways along the land (no, that's not a Native American saying) she literally shuffles sideways whilst holding on to the furniture. She still loves cat ear delicacies, frowning at strangers and hiding bits of food in her hair. She has a very pretty gummy smile and frizzy locks that are hard to tame. Waiting for those first teeth to appear and for her to decide waking up at 1 a.m. each night isn't that interesting. Stay tuned.

My daughter.

Slow down.

Hurry up.

We can't decide.

You love to pull yourself up onto everything and anything.... us... the bed rails... the bars on your crib, the couch, laundry basket, carseat, ottoman...

You chase the cats.  We've never seen you crawl faster than when in pursuit of an animal...

You still love to nibble on the cats' ears and tails....

You love most foods.  We haven't been following any special rules on introducing solids.  Whatever we eat, you eat, except for tomatoes, which mommy hates but you seem to enjoy so... you can always have my tomatoes...

You make a mess.  There is always a souvenir plastered in your hair...

Everyone who meets you says you are such a happy baby.  They are right!

When you're at home, nothing can hold you down.  Our playpen doesn't get much use, except Littlefoot seems to enjoy her afternoon naps in there, so at least there's one warm body in this household not letting it go to waste.

You've said your first 3 words.

The first was "Hi"- you've been saying it off and on for a couple months now, although not in any real context.  Your second word came along a couple weeks ago: "dada" although I'm certain daddy would like to have us record that as your first word.

Oh, and as for the woman who bore you life, nurses you into a deep slumber each night, wears battle scars along what was once an abdomen and has dangerously pumped breast milk for you while driving on the 91 in traffic...

that woman you have honored by making "mama" your 3rd official, un-official word.    Not that I'm stressing any importance on the order of things.

Not much anyway.

Like, hardly at all.

With you,

Everyday is something new.

Everyday is something wonderful.

Everyday you wake us by declaring your allegiances to the morning Gods while standing in your crib. And if you slumbered beside us the night before, you like to slap our faces around a little bit, do a "death grip" on our double chins, and maybe even nibble on our noses while doing your dolphin squeal. In fact, any loose skin or flab sticking around you will find, pinch, twist and pull on to remind us that our holiday weight gain is completely unacceptable.

"Sleeping In" means nothing to you...

Everyday mommy needs just a little more coffee to keep up with her baby girl that is on the go.

Everyday we love you a little more.
